Our Photo Collection covers a wide range of topics and time periods
Since 1959, the Smith County Historical Society has been dedicated to collecting and preserving photographs, negatives, tintypes, and other forms of visual imagery.
Among the oldest identified images in our collection are photographs from the 1870s, including early views of downtown Tyler from the J.P. Douglas Collection. Other notable collections include:

The archives also has panoramic photos, family collections, school collections, postcards, maps and newspapers. All copies of images are be made on site, but special services like canvas wrap and billboard installations are available.
